Driftwood

Just as a child will eventually cease its cries, so too, every storm will pass, and so it was that upon still waters a piece of driftwood found itself idling toward the cave opening.

Millipedes and beetles went about their respective business untroubled as the inconspicuous fragment passed them by and thick roots continued their voyage seeking moisture within.
